In 2008 East London Optimist Club continued to sponsor an ongoing event previously provided by River East Optimist Club

This event continues to grow year to year. Last year was he largest, attended by 357 children from all over the City of London, and some from outside the City as well visiting here with family. Everyone is welcome to come on out and enjoy the day.

Each child is registered and their name put into a draw for one of 12 prize baskets, 6 for the girls and 6 for the boys. Through the day they receive a free large cookie, juice and get to hunt for several eggs hidden in the woods.

Faces can be painted, balloon animals, swords and hats are made and a great play area is enjoyed free to all while awaiting the draws for the baskets.

To raise funds for the event we offer a B.B.Q. of hot dogs, drinks and chips at a very reasonable price along with tickets sold for a draw for a large basket of toys.

We could not hold this event without the support from St. Bernadette School allowing us to use their yard and washrooms.

Sometimes we have snow, sometimes we have sunshine, but, we always have a lot of fun and everyone leaves happy and smiling.
